Summary
Senior Azure and Microsoft 365 engineer at a managed cloud services provider: resolves escalated incidents and complex changes for global clients, builds and automates Azure/M365 estates (PowerShell, IaC-style delivery), and mentors L1/L2 engineers. Core stack: Azure, M365 (Exchange Online, Intune, Purview, Defender, Conditional Access, SharePoint), AWS, and PowerShell scripting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical support requests within agreed SLAs, escalating internally or to third parties when required.
- Manage incident processes, including Major/P1 incidents and technical escalations for global clients.
- Review and provide senior-level sign-off for changes.
- Manage complex change requests with minimal supervision from L4 engineers.
- Collaborate with L3 engineers on the onboarding and handover of new clients.
- Develop automation scripts to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Partner with the Client Relationship Management team on client escalations and service reviews.
- Support the technical and process development of L1 and L2 engineers.
- Drive continual service improvements across processes, automation, and technical operations.
- Identify the resources, knowledge, tools, and techniques needed to complete projects and resolve incidents and service requests.
- Mentor, advise, and guide colleagues.
- Manage client expectations through clear, professional, and friendly communication.
- Participate in the remote weekend and public-holiday support rotation.
- Follow all information-security policies, processes, and obligations.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Intune, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender, Conditional Access, and SharePoint Online.
- Good working knowledge of core Azure services, including virtual machines, virtual networks, Recovery Services vaults, and reservations.
- Experience migrating services from other platforms to Microsoft technologies.
- Experience with AWS administration and resource deployments.
- Advanced automation and scripting skills.
- Experience managing complex changes, Major/P1 incidents, and technical escalations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience mentoring and developing L1 and L2 engineers.
- Strong understanding of incident, change, and service-management processes.
- Strong client communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to participate in weekend and public-holiday support coverage.
