Backend (API) Developer

About the Role
We are a securities company providing online trading services (MTS/HTS) to retail investors in Indonesia. As a Backend (API) Developer, you will be responsible for the server-side APIs that power our trading and wealth management services — from user authentication and session management to account, order, and market-data related functions. You will work closely with front-end, infrastructure, and back-office teams to keep our services fast, secure, and reliable, in an environment where stability and low latency directly affect our customers' trading experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, operate, and maintain backend APIs for the company's MTS/HTS (Mobile/Home Trading System)


• Develop and maintain APIs integrated with retail financial services (e.g., WMP)


• Develop and operate authentication services (login, identity verification, etc.) and session management


• Develop and manage interfaces with core/back-office and external systems


• Improve service performance and respond to incidents


• API standardization, documentation, and quality management

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience (any modern stack — e.g., Python/FastAPI, Java/Spring, Node.js, Go)


• Hands-on experience designing and building RESTful APIs with FastAPI


• Experience developing authentication/authorization (OAuth2, JWT, PKI certificates, etc.) and session management


• Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, etc.)


• Solid understanding of high-traffic processing and performance tuning

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing systems in the financial industry (securities, banking, etc.)


• Backend development experience for trading services such as MTS/HTS


• Experience integrating with core (back-office/ledger) or external gateway systems


• Experience with asynchronous programming (asyncio) and the Python ecosystem (Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, etc.)


• Experience with MSA, Kubernetes, Redis, Kafka, etc.


• Understanding of financial IT security requirements and OJK regulations on information technology for financial institutions
