Backend Engineer Intern, Marketplace Promotion (Fall 2026)
Summary
Backend intern on Shopee's Marketplace Promotion team, designing and maintaining backend services and building tooling in Java, Python, Golang, or C++.
Job Description:
Design, develop and maintain backend services. Collaborate with the product team and provide technical inputs to support product decision making. Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to the end solution. Execute and implement technical designs. Troubleshoot and fix issues that affect the functionality, performance, stability, or reliability of backend systems. Build tools to help monitor, test, and improve team efficiency.
Requirements:
Majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Familiar with at least one backend programming language such as Java, Python, Golang or C++. Familiar with computer science fundamentals (data structures and algorithms, operating systems, networks, databases, etc). Strong in logical thinking and problem solving skills, actively seeking challenges. Strong ownership, good communication skills, having teamwork spirit and capable of working independently. Passionate about coding and programming, innovation, and solving challenging problems.

Best practices in software engineering, including code quality, system design, debugging, and performance optimization. Practical experience applying AI techniques to improve products and efficiency.
