Description

The Business Analyst role focuses on analysing, redesigning, and enabling operational processes to support intelligent automation, AI-assisted workflows, and straight-through processing, while ensuring strong governance, risk control, and human accountability. The role uses generative AI to accelerate analysis and documentation, and builds wireframes and prototypes so stakeholders can test solutions before build begins.

This is a hands-on analysis and change role operating at the intersection of Operations, Technology, and the AI Centre of Excellence (COE). The role supports the transition from manual, fragmented processes to scalable, standardised, automation-ready operating models.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilise skills and experience in the areas of structured problem solving, business analysis, data analytics, design thinking, and lean process improvement to support performance excellence in the organisation.
  • Elicit business requirements from stakeholders, based on project goals and objectives, supported by factual cost benefit analysis producing intelligent and strategic Business Cases for Executive level consideration.
  • Collaborate inside project structures, as well as work independently, and engage directly with senior stakeholders to drive outcomes, including the facilitation of business interviews and workshops using proven techniques.
  • Analyse and map end-to-end operational processes to identify automation and AI opportunities using structured prioritisation
criteria, and provide solution options and benefit analysis.
  • Redesign processes to be automation-ready, clearly separating deterministic steps, AI-enabled interpretation, and human judgement points.
  • Apply AI tools (e.g. M365 Copilot and generative AI assistants) to accelerate requirements capture, process analysis, documentation, test design and data analysis, validating outputs for accuracy, bias and confidentiality before use.
  • Design and build wireframes, mock-ups and interactive prototypes (low to high fidelity) using tools such as Figma, Balsamiq or AI-assisted prototyping tools, to elicit, visualise and validate requirements with stakeholders and development teams before build.
  • Identify, assess and document AI use cases, defining business requirements, data inputs, acceptance criteria, evaluation measures and human-in-the-loop controls, in partnership with the AI Centre of Excellence and in line with AI governance and risk standards.
  • Ensure complete and holistic requirement coverage, creating detailed business, functional, non-functional and operating model requirements that are fit for purpose, and supporting the design, build, test and business readiness/training activities.
  • Manage and coordinate multiple phases of one or more small-to-moderate projects, from business case to transition to BAU, tracking progress against schedule, managing stakeholder involvement, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Support Rapid Deployment Pods (RDPs) through discovery, rapid prototyping, testing, and implementation, iterating solutions quickly with stakeholder feedback.
  • Act as a digital, data and AI change champion within Operations, promoting the responsible use of AI, building AI literacy and leading training, digital adoption and competency building across the practice.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Significant Business Analyst experience, ideally within the funds industry (preferred) or broader financial services industry, in highly regulated environments, with expertise in business analysis methodologies and emerging technologies.
  • Proven track record in the delivery of digital, automation, or operational transformation initiatives.
  • Excellent process mapping skills and worked on projects that have required process improvements, experienced in MS Visio.
  • Working understanding of AI concepts and limitations (e.g. large language models, AI agents, hallucination risk), and of responsible AI, data privacy and governance expectations within regulated environments.
  • Proven ability to create wireframes, mock-ups and clickable prototypes using tools such as Figma, Balsamiq, Miro, PowerPoint or AI-assisted prototyping tools, with a sound understanding of user-centred design and UX principles.
  • Experience working with low-code / no-code automation and orchestration platforms (e.g. Power Automate, n8n).
  • Proven ability to support quality assurance through test planning, creation and execution.
  • Advanced data analytical skills and outstanding problem-solving capabilities, particularly with loosely defined structure and scope.
  • Hands-on experience with M365 Copilot and generative AI tools, including effective prompt design, to support analysis, documentation and prototyping
  • Deep knowledge of core business operations developed through executing projects in areas like strategy, operating model design, lean process improvement, and both waterfall and agile digital transformation and delivery.
  • Demonstrable professional integrity, adherence to legal, regulatory and in-house policies, and dedication to the company’s high-quality standards and customer service focus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at both senior management and end user level.
