We are seeking a dynamic Business Process Automation Engineer with two years of experience to join our team in Kolkata on a full-time, onsite basis. This pivotal role involves architecting and deploying comprehensive automation strategies that bridge browser-based interactions, backend services, and internal utility tools. The successful candidate will leverage both established automation frameworks and cutting-edge AI agent technologies to transform manual, repetitive workflows into efficient, scalable, and observable systems. By identifying opportunities for optimization, you will drive the creation of robust automated solutions that enhance operational productivity and reliability across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and sustain end-to-end automation solutions encompassing browser-based RPA, workflow orchestration, and system integrations.
  
• Engineer robust browser and end-to-end test suites using Playwright, Selenium, or Puppeteer within JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python environments.
  
• Construct and oversee workflow automations utilizing platforms like n8n, Zapier, Make, or Power Automate to seamlessly connect internal applications with external services.
  
• Create and maintain backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs using Node.js, Python, PHP/Laravel, or Java to support automated workflows.
  
• Develop user-friendly internal tools, administrative panels, and monitoring dashboards using React, Vue, or standard HTML-CSS-JS stacks.
  
• Implement AI-driven workflows by leveraging LLM APIs, advanced prompt engineering, and agent frameworks to handle complex, judgment-based tasks.
  
• Utilize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and vector search methodologies to enable automations that can reason over internal documentation and datasets.
  
• Manage data persistence and state through MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB, while implementing message queues for event-driven automation logic.
  
• Standardize deployment processes using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies to ensure reliable testing and release of automation assets.
  
• Diagnose and resolve integration failures, conducting thorough root-cause analysis to improve system stability.
  
• Proactively detect manual or error-prone processes and recommend optimal automation strategies, whether through RPA, workflow tools, custom code, or AI agents.
  
• Maintain comprehensive documentation regarding automation architecture and operational runbooks while collaborating closely with product, engineering, and business teams.
  

Automation & RPA Proficiency

• Demonstrated expertise with browser automation frameworks including Playwright, Selenium, or Puppeteer.
  
• Proven track record utilizing workflow or iPaaS tools such as n8n, Zapier, Make, or Power Automate.
  
• Familiarity with enterprise RPA platforms like UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Blue Prism is advantageous.
  

Backend Development Capabilities

• Strong proficiency in scripting and programming using JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or PHP (Laravel), with the ability to build and sustain APIs.
  
• Solid grasp of REST/GraphQL API standards, authentication protocols, and third-party integration patterns.
  
• Competence in SQL database management (MySQL/PostgreSQL) with exposure to NoSQL solutions like MongoDB.
  
• Understanding of asynchronous automation through message queues and event-driven architectures (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
  

Frontend & Internal Tooling

• Practical experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like React or Vue for creating lightweight dashboards and admin interfaces.
  
• Proficiency in HTML and CSS for rapid UI development and maintenance.
  

Agentic AI & LLM Integration

• Working knowledge of LLM APIs (such as OpenAI or Anthropic), prompt engineering techniques, and function/tool calling mechanisms.
  
• Experience with agent orchestration frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen for building autonomous workflows.
  
• Foundational understanding of RAG patterns and vector database technologies (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector).
  
• Ability to critically assess when AI agents are preferable to deterministic automation and to validate the quality and safety of AI outputs.
  

DevOps & Cloud Competency

• Proficiency with version control systems (Git), branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  
• Experience with Docker containerization and familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is beneficial.
  

Additional Qualifications

• Prior experience with Kubernetes or serverless computing platforms (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions) is a plus.
  
• Background in deploying multi-agent or tool-integrated AI systems in production environments.
  
• Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools for automation pipelines, including log analysis and alerting.
  
• Experience in mentoring junior team members or leading automation adoption initiatives across departments.
