About the Role

AVATAR New Energy Materials Company Limited, a Chinese company specialising in lithium exploration, mining, and processing in Nigeria, is seeking a fluent Chinese Translator to support communication between Chinese management and Nigerian production staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate written documents and interpret spoken communication between Chinese and English.
• Interpret meetings and on-site discussions between Chinese management and Nigerian production staff.
• Facilitate communication between the Head of Production, management, and workers.
• Translate production documents, daily reports, work instructions, and technical materials.
• Assist the Head of Production in supervising daily factory activities.
• Monitor production activities and ensure workers understand and follow supervisors’ instructions.
• Communicate production targets, schedules, and operational procedures clearly.
• Support production meetings, technical training, and equipment instructions.
• Resolve communication gaps and promote mutual understanding between Chinese and Nigerian staff.

Requirements

• B.Sc. degree.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in translation or interpretation, preferably in mining, business, or technical environments.
• Fluency in spoken and written Chinese and English.
• Hausa speaking and listening skills are an advantage.
• Experience studying or working in China is an advantage.
• Strong sense of responsibility and good management skills.
