Cloud Engineer | AWS | Infrastructure as a Code (IaC)

About the role

Our client is seeking a talented Cloud Engineer with expertise in AWS and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to join their growing technology team. This is a full-time position, where you will play a crucial role in designing, deploying, and managing the cloud infrastructure. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be at the forefront to ensure the systems are scalable, secure, and efficient. Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AWS cloud infrastructure solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible

• Develop, maintain, and optimise cloud infrastructure automation scripts and templates to ensure consistency and repeatability across environments

• Manage and monitor AWS resources and other services to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency

• Collaborate with development teams to understand application requirements and translate them into scalable cloud infrastructure solutions

• Implement and maintain security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, network security, and compliance requirements

• Conduct infrastructure testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation to identify and resolve issues

• Document infrastructure architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures for knowledge sharing and continuity

• Stay updated with AWS service updates and industry best practices, recommending improvements to our infrastructure strategy

• Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning initiatives

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working with production with cloud especially Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar technologies

• Solid understanding of cloud architecture principles, including scalability, reliability, security, and cost optimisation

• Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or Amazon ECS

• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, Bash, Go, or PowerShell

• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, and load balancing

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline

• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

• Strong communication skills and ability to document infrastructure decisions and configurations clearly
