Combat Designer
Responsibilities
- Devise & take ownership of tactical, engaging combat encounters for our games, each with a novel, memorable challenge at its core
- Follow up on asset requests with other departments (Art, Narrative, Scripting...) to ensure production is aligned
- Learn & master our tools; report bugs & UX issues; be a vector for improvement
- Be a beacon of knowledge for the game's combat encounters; proactively track, and stay current with, any change in mechanics & game rules
- Proactively flag & follow up on any issue impacting the overall combat experience
- Understand and become an advocate for the player's motivations & expectations
- Keep up with the industry's state of the art
- 3 years experience in a design position with a solid understanding on how combat encounters work
- Meaningful implementation experience using similar creation tools: Unreal Editor, Unity, etc.
- At least one shipped title, from pre-production to a finished product
- Proficiency in written communication & a track record of effectively conveying design through clear documentation
- Excellent verbal communication skills with experience guiding collaboration across diverse disciplines
- Initiative-taking, proactive team player with great problem-solving skills and proven ability to self-manage & meet deadlines
- Someone with the additional skills /competences they would be a very strong fit and will add extra value!)
- A passion for deep combat mechanics & imaginary worlds in general
- Programming skills in C, C++, Lua or C#
- An obsessive eye for detail

Concepteur de combats
Responsabilités
- Créer des affrontements tactiques et engageants pour nos jeux, chacun offrant un défi novateur et mémorable, et en porter la responsabilité
- Faire le suivi des requêtes de ressources auprès des autres départements (art, narration, script, etc.) pour s’assurer que la production est harmonisée
- Apprendre à maîtriser nos outils, signaler les bogues et les problèmes d’expérience utilisateur; être à l’initiative d’améliorations
- Avoir une excellente connaissance des affrontements présents dans le jeu, suivre de manière proactive les changements dans les mécaniques et les règles du jeu afin de rester à jour
- Signaler de manière proactive et effectuer le suivi de tout problème ayant une incidence sur l’expérience globale en combat
- Comprendre les motivations et les attentes des joueurs, et en être le garant. S’informer constamment sur l'évolution des standards de l’industrie
Profil recherché
- Trois ans d’expérience à un poste de conception, avec une bonne compréhension des enjeux typiques d'un système de combat
- Expérience significative de création à l’aide d’outils tels qu’Unreal Editor, Unity, etc.
- Au moins un titre lancé commercialement, de la préproduction au produit fini
- Aptitude à communiquer à l’écrit et un historique vérifiable de bonne communication, via une documentation claire
- Excellentes capacités de communication à l’oral et expérience de gestion de collaboration dans diverses disciplines
- Capacité à prendre des initiatives, à avoir l’esprit d’équipe, à démontrer ses compétences de résolution de problème; capacité avérée à s’autogérer et à respecter les échéances.

- Une passion pour les mécaniques de combat complexes et les mondes imaginaires en général
- Des compétences en programmation en C, C++, Lua ou C#
- Un souci aigu du détail
