Join our team as a Community Support Worker at our Scott Road Connections site in North Delta. This permanent full-time role works Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM, at a salary range between $25.95 - $29.76 per hour, plus benefits, including Extended Health and Dental and participation in the Municipal Pension Plan. This position requires union membership.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a full-time Community Support Worker, you will work 35 hours per week at our community inclusion site. You will be actively engaging supported individuals to live a fulfilling and independent life. You are a motivated and personable individual with a passion to deliver person-centered supports. This means you could be helping an individual to discover more of their community, learn new life-skills such as cooking, physical fitness activities, art classes, or seeking employment. You assist with their physical, social, emotional, educational and recreational needs. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Following an individual care plan,
• Developing monthly plans and facilitating activities based on client’s interests,
• Documenting activities and observations in the client’s file and communication log,
• Physically assist individuals with activities such as swimming and walking.
• Must be physically healthy to aid in lifting and transferring of persons served and be able to provide personal care including toileting and grooming.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certificate/diploma/degree in a field related to Human Sciences
• Practical experience working with developmental and physical disabilities
• Unrestricted Class 4 Driver’s License
• FOODSAFE Level 1
• Emergency First Aid & CPR
