Cybersecurity Intern

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Intern to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in a real-world cybersecurity environment. The intern will work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to meaningful security initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring security systems and identifying potential threats

• Support vulnerability assessments and security audits

• Help document security policies, procedures, and incident reports

• Research emerging cybersecurity threats and best practices

• Assist with the development of user awareness training materials

• Support the team in day-to-day IT security operations

• Participate in incident response activities under close supervision

• Contribute to security tool configuration and testing

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the internship, the intern will be able to:

• Apply cybersecurity concepts in a professional business setting

• Use industry-standard security tools and platforms

• Understand compliance frameworks relevant to the business (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, Essential Eight)

• Communicate security risks clearly in written reports and presentations

• Contribute to team projects and security operations workflows

Requirements

Essential

• Currently studying or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or a related field

• Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and security concepts

• Eagerness to learn and take initiative in a professional environment

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly

Desirable

• Exposure to security tools such as firewalls, SIEM, or endpoint protection

• Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or OWASP

• Basic scripting or programming knowledge (Python, PowerShell, etc.)

• Any relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA Security+, Google Cybersecurity Certificate)
