At Toi Manawa Alliance, we believe great decisions start with great information. We're looking for an experienced Data Analyst to transform complex data into meaningful insights that support better health outcomes for our communities.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in a values-driven organisation focused on improving wellbeing across the Eastern Bay of Plenty. You'll work alongside leaders, service providers, iwi, hapū, and community partners to deliver evidence-based insights that support strategic decision-making, service improvement, funding opportunities, and health equity outcomes.
About the Role
You'll lead the development of dashboards, reporting systems, analytics, and data-driven solutions that enable staff and leaders to make informed decisions. You'll also help explore and implement AI-enabled tools and automation to improve reporting, efficiency, and organisational performance.
Key responsibilities include:
Gathering, analysing, and interpreting health, service, operational, and population data
Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and self-service reporting tools
Providing actionable insights to support strategic planning and service improvement
Supporting funding proposals, business cases, and investment decisions with robust evidence and analysis
Monitoring organisational performance, KPIs, and reporting requirements
Leading equity-focused analysis that supports improved outcomes for Māori and priority populations
Exploring and implementing responsible AI and automation solutions
Strengthening organisational capability in data literacy and dashboard use
Supporting data governance, quality, privacy, and information management practices
About You
You are an analytical thinker who enjoys solving complex problems and turning data into practical solutions. You can engage confidently with both technical and non-technical audiences and have a passion for using data to make a positive difference.
You will bring:
A qualification in Data Analytics, Business Analysis, Health Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
At least 2 years' experience in data analytics, business analysis, or organisational performance
Strong Power BI, Tableau, or business intelligence reporting experience
Experience building dashboards and self-service reporting tools for operational users
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and data quality principles
Experience supporting funding applications, business cases, or investment decisions
Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex information clearly
An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to advancing Māori health equity
Highly desirable
Experience with AI-powered analytics and automation tools, including Power BI and AI capabilities
Knowledge of health sector data and reporting environments
Experience in forecasting, modelling, and scenario analysis
Experience developing equity-focused reporting and performance frameworks
