Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role

As part of the Data and Information Products team, our Data Analysts support OSPRI by producing high-quality analysis, reports, dashboards, and metrics that enable informed decision-making across the business. Working within OSPRI's modern data platform, the role utilises tools such as Azure Databricks, Python, and R to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.


They also maintain data pipelines and data apps that underpin OSPRI's reporting and operational needs. As OSPRI's data environment continues to mature, this role also assists with data quality, classification, and migration initiatives to ensure our datasets remain accurate, well-governed, and fit for purpose.


This role reflects Purpose Led, our work is vital to the decision making of OSPRI which directly impacts the lives of Farmers, and We Deliver, our work is complex, critical, and wide-reaching, you will be supported by exceptional people and tools.


What success will look like:

  • Developing insightful analysis, reports, dashboards and metrics that respond to business needs and support confident, high-quality decision-making across OSPRI.
  • Supporting data quality, classification and migration initiatives to ensure OSPRI’s datasets are accurate, consistent and well governed
  • Partnering with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose information products.
  • Contributing to the ongoing improvement of OSPRI’s data platforms and tools.
  • Living OSPRI’s values daily.

Kōrero mōu - About you

You will have a passion for Data and may be in the early stages of your Data Career. You will also have a drive to learn new techniques, tools, and about a unique operating environment.

You may have some previous exposure to the tools we use, but more importantly you will be able to blend what you know with new information, be comfortable asking for help, and act independently with confidence knowing support is there when you need it.


You naturally align with Purpose Led, keeping Farmers in mind with your work, and We Deliver, having a strong sense of clear expectations, outcomes, and ownership.


You will bring:

  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation using tools such as Python, R, or SQL
  • Experience working with data platforms and pipelines (e.g., Azure Databricks, cloud-based data environments).
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • The ability to translate technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Critical and analytical thinking.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Data literacy.
  • Your ability to get things done, be proactive and self-direct planning and delivering work.
  • A collaborative working style.
