Devops Engineer

Summary

Builds and maintains CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and observability for scalable, secure software delivery using Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS/Azure/GCP.

DevOPS Builds and maintains the infrastructure backbone that powers agile delivery. Automates CI/CD pipelines, enforces patch and lifecycle governance, and embeds observability across environments. Partners with vendors, infrastructure, developers and security teams to ensure resilient, scalable, and compliant platforms—enabling rapid deployment, recovery, and continuous improvement.

Engineers will be assigned to either 24×7 Support Operations or Engineering/Specialist roles, where they will contribute to infrastructure automation, CI/CD optimization, monitoring frameworks, and secure deployment practices.

Technical Expertise

  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
  • Monitoring, logging, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems administration.
  • Networking fundamentals (DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, load balancing).
  • Security best practices in DevOps pipelines.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex deployment or production issues.
  • Capacity to analyze performance metrics and optimize infrastructure.
  • Work closely with developers, QA, and IT operations teams.
  • Communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Project & Process Management

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Ability to plan and execute infrastructure projects independently.
  • Implement automation to reduce manual effort and increase reliability.
  • Stay updated with emerging DevOps tools, practices, and cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of security, regulatory, and compliance requirements affecting deployment.
  • Ability to maintain audit trails and enforce governance in CI/CD processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitOps, Helm, Ansible/Terraform.
  • Familiarity with OpenShift, AWS/GCP/Azure, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD workflows, release gates, zero-downtime deployment, and observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).

Preferred / Advantageous Certifications

  • Cloud Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer, Google Professional DevOps Engineer.
  • Container / Orchestration Certifications: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Docker Certified Associate.
  • Infrastructure Automation / IaC Certifications: Terraform Associate, Ansible Certification, or equivalent.
  • Security / Compliance Awareness: Certifications related to DevSecOps or IT security (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or cloud security certifications).
