Phoenix Technologies is hiring a backend-focused DevOps engineer in the Netherlands to design, build, and run Java/Spring Boot microservices. Day to day the role covers documenting and refining designs, writing automated unit/integration tests, wiring quality checks into CI/CD pipelines, and joining the DevOps incident management process.
We are seeking a backend engineer to design, build and run various backend systems in a microservice landscape. You will be responsible for documenting, refining designs, implementing best practices, and ensuring quality through automated testing and CI/CD pipelines. Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and run backend microservices.
- Provide appropriate documentation, reporting, and formalization.
- Actively contribute to design and refinement sessions.
- Apply security, quality, and availability best practices.
- Contribute to automated quality controls in CI/CD pipelines.
- Create and conduct automated unit and integration tests.
- Participate in the regular DevOps incident management process.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience with Java17+ and Spring Boot.
- Experience with design patterns, methodologies, and Clean Code principles.
- Insight into different test levels (unit tests, functional tests, API tests, mocking, end-to-end tests).
Nice to have
- Experience with Kotlin.
- Experience with build & deployment tools such as Maven, Git, Docker, and Ansible.
- Experience with NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB.
- Experience with Linux scripting and DevOps tooling.
