Embedded Software Developer

Randstad Digital is currently seeking an Embedded Software Developer for a consultant assignment at a global leader in technology and mobility solutions.

In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the future of advanced technology and mobility solutions by designing, integrating, and debugging software for smart embedded systems and connectivity modules. Working across the entire development lifecycle—from early hardware evaluation to long-term maintenance you will drive creative, innovative solutions for embedded computing units, connectivity components, and integrated electronic systems. Your work will directly impact modern IoT and mobility solutions, delivering seamless user experiences and cutting-edge performance.

To Succeed In This Role, You Must Have

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 10+ years of embedded software development experience, preferably within IoT products
• Hands-on experience with embedded IoT networking protocols such as CoAP, MQTT, REST, or V2X (DSRC/c-V2X)
• Experience with C++ programming using RTOS platforms (e.g., FreeRTOS)
• Proven ability to develop efficient code for resource-constrained systems (small memory footprint, low power requirements)
• Solid experience in sub-system/peripheral integration and hardware debugging (using JTAG or similar)
• Hands‑on experience with Bluetooth/BLE, NB‑IoT, LTE‑M, or other cellular technologies
• Experience leveraging DevSecOps practices and techniques (threat modeling, automated security testing, CI/CD, communication and collaboration) in an agile (SAFe) environment

We'll Be Particularly Impressed If You Also Have

• Experience in service development and IoT management
• Knowledge of low-power design and power measurement techniques
• C programming skills
• Experience with algorithm development, machine learning, and the Atlassian tool suite

Responsibilities

• Designing, integrating, and debugging software for advanced embedded products, display units, and connectivity modules
• Collaborating within cross-functional agile teams using SAFe across embedded real-time systems, user interfaces, hardware evaluation, and cloud/app interactions
• Developing optimized and efficient code tailored for resource-constrained systems with small memory footprints and low power limits
• Implementing and integrating communication protocols across CAN-bus, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and cellular technologies
• Applying DevSecOps practices, threat modeling, automated security testing, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and quality-assured software deliveries
• Participating in creative and innovative initiatives to advance algorithms, machine learning integrations, and embedded product capabilities
• Taking full ownership of assignments, solving complex technical challenges, and sharing knowledge with team members
