Engineer / Senior Engineer (R&D)
Summary
Leads R&D projects to develop and optimize semiconductor manufacturing processes, using DOE and data analysis to improve performance, quality, and cost efficiency.
Key Job Accountabilities
- Lead assigned R&D projects and technology development initiatives.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to achieve high performance, quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Design and execute experiments (DOE) to characterize, evaluate, and optimize new products, materials, processes, and technologies.
- Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies to support product and technology development.
- Analyze process and product data to identify opportunities for improvement and establish robust process windows.
- Evaluate and qualify new materials, equipment, manufacturing methods, and technologies.
- Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation plans during technology and product development.
- Support engineering builds, prototype runs, and qualification activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Equipment, Process Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure successful project execution.
- Prepare, review, and maintain technical documentation, reports, specifications, and development records.
- Facilitate technology transfer and ensure smooth transition of developed solutions into volume manufacturing.
- Provide technical support during product introduction and ramp-up phases to achieve stable production performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, quality, productivity, and reliability.
Required Experience andQualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong project planning, execution, monitoring, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of product development, process development, manufacturing principles, and quality systems.
- Experience in Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with process characterization, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Strong technical documentation and report-writing skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in the semiconductor, electronics, advanced manufacturing, or related industries is preferred.
- Willingness to travel for training, project support, or technology transfer activities as required.
