Enterprise Data Architect | 6 Month Contract | Melbourne / Hybrid

Milestone IT is partnering with a leading consulting organisation supporting a major Australian enterprise client. We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Architect for an initial 6 month contract to provide architectural oversight, data platform governance, and design assurance across ongoing project initiatives.

This role will suit a senior data architect who is comfortable working across enterprise architecture, delivery teams, business stakeholders, and technology leaders to ensure data platform solutions align with broader enterprise standards, patterns, and strategic direction.

Key responsibilities:

• Review, challenge, and endorse solution designs relating to enterprise data platforms
• Provide architectural governance and design oversight across active project initiatives
• Drive key architecture decisions through delivery, design, and governance forums
• Define and reinforce strategic and tactical architecture patterns for data platforms
• Ensure project solutions align with enterprise architecture principles, standards, and guidelines
• Identify, document, and support approved variances, exceptions, and compliance considerations
• Socialise solution designs with relevant stakeholders and build alignment across teams
• Act as a trusted adviser to project, business, technology, and architecture stakeholders

Required experience:

• Strong background in enterprise data platform architecture within complex environments
• Proven experience reviewing and approving solution designs
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, governance, and design assurance
• Experience defining and applying data architecture patterns across strategic and tactical initiatives
• Ability to influence architectural decision-making across multiple stakeholder groups
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex design considerations clearly
• Experience working across project teams, enterprise architecture, delivery, and business functions
• Previous experience managing architecture variances, exceptions, and design compliance
