Façade Design Manager
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop façade design solutions from concept and preliminary design stages through detailed design and construction documentation.
- Prepare façade engineering calculations, technical analyses, design reports, and supporting documentation.
- Produce and review façade shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation drawings, and as-built documentation.
- Review architectural, structural, and consultant drawings to identify design conflicts, technical issues, and constructability concerns.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, main contractors, suppliers, and project teams on design and technical matters.
- Attend design coordination meetings, technical discussions, and project review meetings as required.
- Prepare and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), technical submissions, method statements, and material submissions.
- Ensure all façade designs comply with project specifications, Singapore building regulations, and relevant industry standards.
- Support project teams in resolving site-related technical issues during fabrication and installation stages.
- Monitor design progress and drawing submission schedules to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Stay updated on local façade design standards, engineering practices, and industry developments.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Building Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of façade design experience within the curtain wall, façade, glazing, or building envelope industry.
- Strong knowledge of curtain wall systems, aluminium façade systems, glazing systems, and related building envelope components.
- Familiarity with Singapore building regulations, façade design standards, and industry practices.
- Ability to understand and explain differences between Singapore and Chinese façade design standards and engineering requirements.
- Experience in façade concept design, engineering design, structural analysis, detailed design, and shop drawing development.
- Ability to review structural calculations, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Strong understanding of façade materials, fabrication processes, installation methods, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Revit, BIM modelling, SolidWorks, Rhino, Grasshopper, or other façade design software will be advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
- Good command of English for technical communication and coordination with project stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in landmark buildings, high-rise developments, transportation hubs, commercial complexes, or architecturally complex façade projects.
- Experience with freeform, irregular-shaped, or double-curved façade systems.
- Familiarity with façade performance requirements including structural, thermal, waterproofing, air infiltration, and façade testing standards.
