Field Engineer, Electrical and Instrumentation

Position Purpose

Owns field execution of power, control and instrument installation, including panels, sensors, cabling and the physical interface to the control system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise installation of switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, cable tray, conduit, grounding and lighting.
  • Direct instrument installation, including transmitters, control valves, analyzers, level and flow devices, and verify tagging against the instrument index.
  • Manage hazardous area classification compliance, including sealing, wiring methods and equipment ratings in classified zones.
  • Coordinate DCS and PLC panel installation, marshalling, cable termination and loop check execution.
  • Support commissioning of gas detection, fire alarm and emergency shutdown circuits.
  • Verify calibration certificates and maintain the instrument calibration register.
  • Maintain electrical and instrumentation redlines for the as built set.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent field experience.
  • Five or more years of industrial electrical and instrumentation field engineering.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E and hazardous area classification.
  • Loop check and functional test experience.
  • OSHA 30.

Preferred Qualifications

  • DCS platform experience such as DeltaV, Honeywell, Rockwell or Siemens.
  • Arc flash study and coordination experience.
