Field Engineer, Mechanical and Piping

Position Purpose

Translates drawings into correctly installed steel and pipe. Walks the job daily, catches interferences before they become rework, and keeps installation moving to the correct tolerance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify equipment setting, elevation, orientation, levelness and alignment against foundation and general arrangement drawings.
  • Supervise grouting, anchor bolt tensioning, soft foot correction and final alignment of rotating equipment.
  • Track piping installation against isometrics, including spool receipt, fit up, support installation and spring hanger settings.
  • Resolve field routing conflicts, raise technical queries with clear proposed solutions, and drive engineering response.
  • Coordinate ductwork and ventilation installation in volatile and hazardous classified areas.
  • Support pressure testing, flushing and cleanliness verification with QA/QC.
  • Maintain the redline markup set that becomes the as built package.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent field experience.
  • Five or more years of field installation on process plants.
  • Strong isometric and P&ID literacy and practical alignment and grouting knowledge.
  • OSHA 30.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Rotating equipment alignment certification.
  • Stainless and hygienic piping experience.
