Forge Engineering Manager

Position Summary

The Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and leading all engineering and maintenance operations within the plant. This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership to ensure continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, equipment, and overall plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the plant’s overall engineering and maintenance functions
• Provide direction to engineering staff on:
  • Manufacturing applications
  • Process improvements and modifications
  • Design of new and existing equipment
• Oversee key engineering projects, including:
  • Process optimization
  • Performance reporting and data analysis
• Establish and maintain machinery documentation systems
• Develop, implement, and enforce engineering policies, procedures, and programs
• Support engineering teams in selecting appropriate:
  • Design concepts
  • Manufacturing technologies
  • Facility improvements
• Manage mechanical and electrical maintenance operations through 1–2 supervisors and their teams
• Lead talent management activities:
  • Hiring and development
  • Training and performance evaluation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
• Proven knowledge of:
  • Metal processing
  • Machine tools
  • Manufacturing equipment and systems
• Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
