Forge Engineering Manager
Position Summary
The Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and leading all engineering and maintenance operations within the plant. This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership to ensure continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, equipment, and overall plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the plant’s overall engineering and maintenance functions
- Provide direction to engineering staff on:
- Manufacturing applications
- Process improvements and modifications
- Design of new and existing equipment
- Oversee key engineering projects, including:
- Process optimization
- Performance reporting and data analysis
- Establish and maintain machinery documentation systems
- Develop, implement, and enforce engineering policies, procedures, and programs
- Support engineering teams in selecting appropriate:
- Design concepts
- Manufacturing technologies
- Facility improvements
- Manage mechanical and electrical maintenance operations through 1–2 supervisors and their teams
- Lead talent management activities:
- Hiring and development
- Training and performance evaluation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
- Proven knowledge of:
- Metal processing
- Machine tools
- Manufacturing equipment and systems
- Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
