Frontend Android Developer (Native Kotlin)

Summary

Builds and maintains native Android apps in Kotlin, integrating APIs and cloud services while following Clean Architecture and MVVM.

Role Overview

The Software Development Engineer will design, develop, test, and deploy software systems and applications across cloud-based or internet-related tools, including micro‑services, APIs, telemetry data, and ML/AI algorithms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop solutions and functionality that drive business growth.
  • Develop and maintain high‑quality native Android applications using Kotlin.
  • Write and test code, including automated testing.
  • Contribute to software deployment and integration with 3rd‑party solutions.
  • Create, craft, and debug large‑scale distributed systems.
  • Document and maintain technical program and operational procedures.
  • Refactor code and review code written by other developers.
  • Collaborate across multiple teams to deliver software components.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 3–4 years of professional experience in Android Native (Kotlin) development.
  • In‑depth understanding of MVVM, Clean Architecture, and Modular Architecture.
  • Proven experience handling data communication using Retrofit and OkHttp.
  • Experience managing asynchronous tasks with Kotlin Coroutines.
  • Hands‑on experience with DI frameworks such as Hilt or Dagger.
  • Strong knowledge of C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, Node.js, and relevant libraries/frameworks.
  • Proficiency with data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Experience with micro‑services architecture and API product development.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores (Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Experience with container runtimes (Kubernetes, Docker, LXC/LXD).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and cloud‑based infrastructure deployments.
  • Experience with Agile, Lean, and test‑driven development.
  • Ability to work in a diverse, fast‑paced environment.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
