IBM Information Management System (IMS) Database Administrator Lead

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Application Lead with strong expertise in IBM Information Management System (IMS) Database to lead application development and database-related initiatives. The role involves providing technical leadership, making key decisions, managing teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of application solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as an SME for IBM IMS Database and provide technical guidance to the team.

• Lead and oversee application design, development, and configuration activities.

• Collaborate with multiple technical and business teams to define solutions and resolve complex issues.

• Make technical and team-level decisions to ensure successful project delivery.

• Design, maintain, and optimize database structures and application solutions.

• Ensure projects are delivered on time and in accordance with technical standards and best practices.

• Provide solutions and recommendations for issues across teams.

• Promote knowledge sharing and effective development practices.

About you

• Expert-level knowledge of IBM IMS Database.

• Strong understanding of database management systems and database architecture.

• Experience designing and optimizing database structures.

• Proficiency in SQL and database querying.

• Knowledge of data security and compliance standards.

• Strong problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience working with cross-functional technical teams.

• Experience in application development leadership or technical lead roles (preferred).

• Experience working with enterprise/mainframe database environments (preferred).

• Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization (preferred).
