Position Summary

You will deliver end to end ICT & digital system implementation projects across the full software R&D lifecycle: scope definition, planning, budgeting, risk and quality management and stakeholder engagement. Applicants require minimum three years end to end ICT software project management experience covering full product R&D lifecycle, technical team leadership and on site client project delivery. You will lead technical teams and contractors to deliver projects on time, on budget and meeting quality requirements.


Responsibilities

1.Project Planning and Management

o Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

o Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.

o Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

o Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.

o Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.

2.Team Leadership and Coordination

o Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.

o Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.

o Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.

o Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

3.Budget and Resource Management

o Draft and submit ICT project budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.

o Determine and assess the need for additional technical staff and/or ICT consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.

4.Quality Assurance and Risk Management

o Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, ICT functional requirements documentation.

o Proactively manage changes in ICT project scope, identify potential technical and business risks, and devise contingency plans.

o Define ICT system delivery project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties15 throughout project life cycle.

o Conduct ICT project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

5.Stakeholder Engagement

o Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.

o Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.


Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems or related computing disciplines.

2. Minimum 3 years of end-to-end ICT software project management experience, covering full product R&D lifecycle, technical team leadership and client on-site project delivery.

3. Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional technical teams, with proven capability in product R&D coordination, budget control, risk assessment and nationwide project rollout.

4. Hands-on experience in backend software development, database architecture design and integrated hardware-software system deployment.

5. Working knowledge of New Zealand privacy regulations and payment cybersecurity compliance for commercial POS platforms.
