Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC)

Summary

Government cybersecurity role protecting DoD systems; develops policies, manages IA plans, and oversees security training and risk assessments.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Provides the full scope of Information Technology Security (INFOSEC) to the installation, organizations, and management.

Develops policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data.

Manages Information Assurance (IA) plans for the installation.

Evaluates and recommends the adoption of new information technology security methods that will enhance capabilities.

Oversees the execution of the IA training and awareness program.

Reviews the status of all information security and/or networks to ensure no security relevant changes have been made which would invalidate the accreditation.

Reviews threat and vulnerability assessments to analyze the risk to information technology and networks, and determines appropriate measures to effectively manage those risks.
