INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

Summary

Oversee cybersecurity for a naval command, ensuring compliance with federal policies, managing risk frameworks, and mentoring security teams to protect information systems.

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the Certain Competitive Service / Modified Direct Hire Authority. You will serve as the Command Information System Security Manager (ISSM), directing and overseeing the cybersecurity program to ensure compliance with applicable command and federal cybersecurity policies, standards, and directives.

You will provide authoritative guidance to command leadership on cybersecurity risk, security posture, and regulatory compliance.

You will develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives that protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems and data.

You will direct the Risk Management Framework (RMF) program by overseeing authorization activities, continuous monitoring, security control implementation, Plans of Action and Milestones, and risk management processes.

You will maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO) compliance across multiple information systems.

You will oversee vulnerability management, cybersecurity assessments, incident response, and continuous monitoring activities.

You will analyze enterprise cyber risk, prioritize remediation efforts, and ensure timely resolution of identified security deficiencies.

You will mentor Information System Security Officers and cybersecurity personnel by establishing priorities, assigning work, evaluating performance, and fostering a culture of accountability, improvement, and mission-focused customer service.

You will represent the Command's cybersecurity interests by partnering with internal and external stakeholders to integrate cybersecurity requirements into enterprise services, information technology modernization initiatives, and mission operations.

You will lead cybersecurity projects and strategic initiatives by establishing objectives, managing resources and schedules, resolving technical and programmatic challenges, and delivering mission-focused outcomes that support Command priorities.
