IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (NETWORK/INFOSEC)
Summary
Provides cybersecurity and network engineering support for DISA systems, including testing, documentation, and technical oversight for secure network operations.
This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA J6/C4 ENTERPRISE DIRECTORATE DKADAP-IT3H2.
Provides technical and analytical support for the DISA J6 networked systems to include server, desktop, and storage systems to assist leadership in validating, refining, and documenting operational requirements and constraints.
Works with operations technicians and project teams to plan for and provide technical oversight for installation, operational testing, and final checkout prior to turning over to operations.
Responsible for the development and implementation of an exhaustive Test and Evaluation, test elements, associated test procedures and set-ups to measure and validate all elements of system performance.
Contributes technical information to the definition of procurement documentation, including materiel design and performance specifications, statements of work for associated design, technical support services, and quality standards.
Defines and documents technical information essential to the definition of system design and performance specifications, as well as acquisition and life cycle support budgets, meeting operational and security requirements.
Actively solicits detailed feedback from operators and administrators to gain insight into network operations and identify operational issues that could affect system effectiveness, reliability, and maintainability.
