SUPV IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

Summary

Supervises IT cybersecurity operations for the U.S. Cyber Command, implementing security policies and risk assessments to protect military networks and data.

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - FE/Endpoint Svcs /Customer Spt Directorate.

Provides technical operation, defense, control, and management of the DISA provided portions of the Global Information Grid (GIG) that support CYBERCOM.

Defines, develops, and implements systems security solutions that meet the goals established by the DISA and Defense Information Assurance (IA) Programs.

Develops policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks and data.

Conducts risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.

Develops, validates, and coordinates Information Technology and Information Assurance operation and maintenance procedures and oversees development of risk assessments of current and planned IT systems.
