Summary
Test/IT support engineer on an initial 2-year extendable contract in Bukit Mertajam, Penang: collects test requirements, writes basic test plans and cases, executes test automation scripts, and documents results, alongside software/hardware troubleshooting of Windows desktops and laptops. Requires 2+ years' related experience; RM 3,500–4,000/month.

About the role
Software Engineer 2-IT Support role through Optimum Infosolutions based in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, Malaysia. This is an initial 2 years extendable contract position.
Key responsibilities
Assists in collecting test requirements and creating basic test plans and test cases.
Follows risk management plans and executes test automation scripts.
Works assigned test engineering tasks according to project plans including schedule, budget and component cost targets.
Documents text execution progress and issues.
Works assigned tasks while exercising basic knowledge of engineering technology and basic skills with engineering tools.
Follows test engineering standard processes and procedures.
About you
Minimum 2+ years of related experience in a professional role or equivalent experience.
Basic understanding of computer hardware and software system architecture.
Basic understanding of hardware and software interactions, and able to apply this understanding to resolve issues.
Able to easily achieve mastery of new tools, languages and operating systems.
Proficient in reading and understanding technical data sheets.
Software/hardware troubleshooting skills.
Familiar with Windows OS/Device drivers.
Familiar with Desktop and Laptop hardware management.
Educational background preferably in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or IT.
