We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join a team developing modern, enterprise-scale digital solutions for an international financial services company. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on backend development, creating efficient APIs, and working in a dynamic, globally distributed engineering environment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, enhance, and maintain backend applications using Java
- Create and support scalable REST APIs and microservices
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and developers to deliver new functionalities
- Help design reliable, secure, and high‑performing systems
- Work within Agile teams and contribute through CI/CD‑based delivery processes
- Perform code reviews, implement automated testing, and assist with production support
- Drive improvements in development standards, tooling, and overall code quality
QUALIFICATION
MUST HAVE
- Proven commercial experience with Java (versions 8, 11, or 17+)
- Strong expertise in Spring and Spring Boot frameworks
- Practical experience with RESTful services and microservices‑based systems
- Knowledge of SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD workflows, and build tools like Maven or Gradle
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with messaging/event‑streaming technologies like Kafka or MQ
- Background in banking, financial services, or other regulated industries
