An exciting and fast-growing IT Solutions company is seeking a motivated Junior IT Technician to join their technical support team in Port Elizabeth. This role is ideal for a candidate with a passion for technology, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. The successful candidate will provide first-line support to end-users, assist with desktop and network troubleshooting, and support a variety of IT infrastructure environments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and related hardware.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and Microsoft applications.
- Respond to user support requests and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Assist with user account administration, password resets, and Microsoft 365 support.
- Configure and deploy new workstations, peripherals, and software applications.
- Support network infrastructure, including basic troubleshooting of LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN connectivity issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of support tickets, resolutions, and IT assets.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior technicians when required.
Requirements
- Grade 12.
- 1+ year of IT support or helpdesk experience.
- Relevant IT qualification, certificate, or diploma will be advantageous.
- CompTIA A+ is required.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
- Understanding of computer hardware, networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of Active Directory and user account management will be advantageous.
- Valid driver's license and own reliable transport (Advantageous).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
