Identis is seeking a Junior to Middle Firmware Engineer to join our R&D Hardware & Firmware Engineering team in Torino. You will develop on-device code (embedded software) and digital logic for high-precision personalization systems, spanning legacy maintenance and next-gen products.
The role requires 1–4 years in firmware or low-level development, strong C/C++ skills, and familiarity with VHDL/FPGA. You’ll work with UART/SPI/I2C and other interfaces, and collaborate with hardware,
Design, write, and maintain embedded software in C/C++ for microcontrollers. Develop VHDL code on FPGA architectures for digital logic and motion control. Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate firmware with boards. Troubleshoot code and hardware interfaces using lab instruments. Write low-level drivers and manage communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN). Maintain documentation and versioning via Git. 1–4 years firmware or low-level development experience. Solid foundation in C and/or C++ for embedded systems. Knowledge of VHDL and FPGA architectures is required.
