Lead Microservices and AI Technical Architect

What You Will Do

As a Microservices & AI Technical Lead, you will provide technical leadership for the design and delivery of modern cloud-native platforms, microservices ecosystems, and AI-enabled solutions. You will play a key role in driving technology transformation initiatives, establishing engineering best practices, and ensuring scalable, secure, and resilient digital services. Working closely with business and technical stakeholders, you will influence architecture decisions, guide AI adoption across the software delivery lifecycle, and support capability uplift across engineering teams.
Your Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural governance for cloud-native, microservices, and event-driven platforms.
  • Drive the design, implementation, and evolution of scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise solutions.
  • Lead the adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices and AI solutions across the software development lifecycle.
  • Establish and promote modern engineering standards, including DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and platform engineering.
  • Guide technology modernisation initiatives, including application transformation, containerisation, and enterprise system integration.
  • Develop reusable architectural patterns and frameworks that improve platform scalability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
  • Influence engineering decisions and provide technical direction to multidisciplinary delivery teams.
  • Ensure security-by-design principles are embedded throughout solution development and deployment.
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to translate business objectives into effective technology solutions.
  • Build organisational capability through mentoring, coaching, governance, and technical leadership.
You Should Have
  • Extensive experience designing, implementing, and governing cloud-native, microservices, and event-driven architectures within complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience delivering scalable, reliable, and secure business-critical platforms.
  • Demonstrated expertise in AI engineering and AI-enabled solution delivery, including machine learning, semantic search, enterprise AI capabilities, and responsible AI practices.
  • Strong software engineering and platform engineering background with experience in modern development frameworks and technologies.
  • Proven experience implementing DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, and operational excellence frameworks.
  • Track record of leading large-scale technology transformation and modernisation programs.
  • Ability to influence architecture decisions and provide strategic technical direction across enterprise initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience working with senior executives, business leaders, and technical teams.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering outcomes in complex environments.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical and sustainable technology solutions.
Nice to Have
  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing container platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS, EKS, or GKE.
  • Experience with cloud platform modernisation, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and platform engineering practices.
  • Strong knowledge of observability tools, enterprise automation, and platform governance.
  • Experience coaching and leading geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience fostering collaborative, high-performing engineering cultures focused on innovation and capability uplift.
  • Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, API strategies, and event-driven technologies.
