Summary
A senior (EL2-equivalent) Security Architect embedded with a Federal Government department in Canberra, leading secure target-state architecture, security patterns/standards and design assurance across cloud, identity, data and infrastructure, aligned to ISM, PSPF and Zero Trust. Requires Australian Baseline clearance (NV1 preferred) and weekly onsite attendance in Canberra.
Salary: Semnior EL2 - attractive hourly rate
Overview:Triniti is supporting a major Federal Government department seeking an experienced Lead Security Architect to provide strategic security architecture leadership across a complex enterprise technology environment.
This is a senior, EL2-equivalent opportunity focused on embedding security into enterprise architecture, technology investment and digital transformation initiatives from the outset.
The successful candidate will work closely with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, Cyber Security teams and project delivery teams to develop secure target-state architectures, security standards, patterns and roadmaps.
Key duties:
- Leading the design and assurance of secure technology solutions across major ICT initiatives
- Providing security architecture advice across cloud, infrastructure, applications, data, identity and integration
- Identifying and mitigating security risks throughout the solution lifecycle
- Developing security patterns, standards, reference architectures and design guidance
- Conducting security architecture reviews and supporting design assurance and governance activities
- Working with project teams and senior stakeholders to embed security-by-design principles
- Supporting broader cyber security uplift initiatives and improvements in enterprise security maturity
- Providing architectural advice aligned with the ISM, PSPF and Zero Trust principles
- Significant experience operating as a Security Architect within large and complex technology environments
- Strong enterprise-level cyber security architecture experience
- Demonstrated experience designing and assuring secure ICT solutions
- Strong knowledge across cloud security, identity and access management, infrastructure, applications, data and integration
- Experience developing security standards, patterns, reference architectures and roadmaps
- Strong understanding of cyber security risk management and security-by-design principles
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide trusted security advice across technical and executive audiences
- Experience working across multi-cloud and hybrid technology environments
- Federal Government experience will be highly regarded
- Knowledge of Australian Government security frameworks including ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight and IRAP will be highly desirable
- Relevant certifications such as SABSA, CISSP, CCSP, Azure Security Engineer, AWS Security Specialty or TOGAF would be advantageous
This role is based in Canberra and candidates must be located within the ACT or surrounding region.
The department operates a hybrid working model, with the successful candidate expected to routinely and weekly attend the Canberra office.
Mandatory Baseline clearance but existing NV1 clearance is preferred.
