Management Analyst (Primary Care)

Summary

Analyzes and maintains primary care data systems for a VA medical center, ensuring accurate patient population tracking and reporting to meet healthcare goals.

This position is with the Primary Care Service of the Bay Pines VA Medical Center. This position is listed as the Principal Facility Coordinator (PFC) for the Bay Pines Veterans Health's System. Working in collaboration with the ACOS and Chief of Data Management for Bay Pines Primary Care, PACT Care Coordinators, Nurse Managers, Chief Medical Officers, and Administrative Officers for the Bay Pines Veterans Health System.

Duties include, but are not limited to: Planning and making recommendations for future resources in primary care to care for patients. Ensure systems are correctly updated so that analysis will have the smallest error possible. On a regular basis, data reports are posted on the VHA Support Service Center (VSSC). Validation of the data is completed monthly to ensure that definitions and decisions are subjected to ongoing evaluation and consistent interpretation. Responsible for the integrity of the Medical Center's primary care applications, its functionality, utilization, and resulting data. Must be creative and successful in managing a local process to ensure this data is accurate every month. Monitors PACT team populations, maintains patient population within each PACT team including attrition (removing patients from PACT teams due to death, transfer, or no activity) and assignment (based on patient request, gender, morbidity, location, or other population). Determines whether PACT staffing is sufficient to provide comprehensive primary care to all patients assigned to PACTs and submit staffing needs to clinical executive(s) responsible for staffing decisions. Ensure primary care standard operation procedures (SOP) or directives are in place and current for PACT panel model capacity and primary care systems; meeting all local requirements and stakeholder concurrence to meet VHA PACT goals and objectives. Prepares Medical Center level reports using various systems and reports. The incumbent must learn these systems, including VSSC, ProClarity, Pyramid, PACT Compass, almanacs, and other analytical tools. Utilizes a variety of data systems to monitor performance over time and identify key trends that could affect the performance in primary care within a Medical Center and its divisions. Collaboration must occur with the Chief of Primary Care and/or Primary Care Administrative Officer to ensure progress and improvement continues in today's health care market.
