Network Security Architect
Summary
Contract role via recruiter Paxus for a NSW government agency's Cyber Security team: design, implement, and maintain secure network architecture across IT and OT environments, centred on delivering a Cisco EVPN-VXLAN fabric across two data centres and migrating critical applications to it. Key tech: Cisco EVPN-VXLAN, routing/switching, NGFWs, NAC, public cloud, ADCs.
Salary: $190 - $199 p.h.
This Governement agency has an immediate requirement for a Network Security Architect to join their Cyber Security team.
This person needs to be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining resilient and scalable network architectures and security controls across IT and OT (Operational Technology) environments.
This role focuses on identifying gaps, assessing risks, enhancing network security, and producing secure network designs, while contributing to the Cyber Security Roadmap from a network security perspective. It is critical to protecting IT and OT assets from cyber threats through robust, standards-based network security strategies.
In this role you will:
- Complete the detailed design & implementation of a Cisco switched EVPN-VXLAN fabric between 2 DCs.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and NSW Telco stakeholders to deliver on agreed commitments and standards.
- Migration of critical applications from legacy network to Cisco EVPN-VXLAN fabric.
- Provide an operational escalation to the Network operations centre and the Security operations team.
- Provide support during and post cutover.
- Ensure all projects comply with cyber security best practices and meet relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Manage stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issues management to ensure stakeholders are engaged throughout project and deliverables are met.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Design and implementation of secure, resilient, and scalable networks to support critical government infrastructure and applications. Key technology includes but not limited to routing, switching, Cisco switched EVPN-VXLAN fabric, Next Generation firewalls, Network Access Control (NAC), Public Cloud and Application Delivery Controllers (ADC). With key importance around Cisco switched EVPN-VXLAN fabric.
- Outstanding communication skills, enabling you to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Provide design and as-built documentation along with up-to-date network diagrams.
- Outstanding ability to troubleshoot and manage incidents/problems relating to the migration.
- Experience in developing technology roadmaps that align with organisational goals.
- An ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge on ICT, cyber security and cyber risk trends & hold relevant industry certifications.
- Must have or be able to attain and maintain a baseline security clearance
