Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Python Production Support / Operations Engineer with strong expertise in Python scripting, batch scheduling, monitoring, and production operations. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth execution of critical business processes, monitoring scheduled jobs, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting business-critical applications in a financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate routine operational activities, monitoring, and support processes.
• Manage batch scheduling, job execution, monitoring, and failure recovery.
• Perform incident triage, troubleshoot production issues, and coordinate with development and infrastructure teams for timely resolution.
• Monitor critical production workflows and ensure adherence to operational SLAs.
• Analyze application logs to identify errors, investigate failures, and perform root cause analysis.
• Execute SQL queries for data validation, troubleshooting, and production investigations.
• Support release and deployment activities, including production validation and post-release monitoring.
• Maintain operational documentation, incident reports, and support procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through scripting and automation.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to ensure application stability and continuity.

Primary Skills (Must-Have)

• Strong hands-on experience in Python scripting and automation.
• Experience in batch scheduling, job monitoring, and workflow management.
• Good understanding of production support and operations.
• Experience in incident management, triaging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Ability to handle production issues in time-sensitive business environments.

Secondary Skills (Good-to-Have)

• Working knowledge of SQL and database queries.
• Experience in application log analysis and troubleshooting.
• Exposure to release management, deployment, and production validation.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and scheduling platforms.

Domain Knowledge

• Experience in the Global Markets / Financial Services domain.
• Understanding of Regulatory Risk and financial risk management processes.
• Exposure to one or more of the following is preferred:
  
• FRTB (Fundamental Review of the Trading Book)
• CCAR (Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review)
• CCR (Counterparty Credit Risk)
• VaR (Value at Risk)

Desired Candidate Profile

• 5–8 years of relevant experience in Python-based production support, application operations, or automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Understanding of financial services applications and regulatory risk processes is an advantage.
