KBR Abu Dhabi is currently looking to fill a position of Project Manager for an offshore project to be based in Abu Dhabi in client office or client proposed office.
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of offshore projects in line with contractual requirements, safety standards, quality, cost, and schedule. The role leads multi-disciplinary teams and coordinates with internal stakeholders, clients, and contractors to ensure successful offshore project delivery. Key responsibilities
Project management & execution
Lead end-to-end execution of offshore projects from engineering through construction, commissioning, and handover
Develop and manage project execution plans, schedules, and budgets
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements
Control project scope, manage changes, risks, and opportunities
Ensure timely achievement of project milestones and deliverables
Offshore operations & coordination
Oversee offshore construction, installation, commissioning, and hook-up activities
Coordinate with marine, logistics, yard, and offshore teams
Ensure safe execution of offshore works in compliance with HSE and marine regulations
Manage interface coordination between engineering, procurement, construction, and subcontractors
Health, safety & environment (HSE)
Promote and enforce a strong HSE culture
Ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory HSE standards
Participate in risk assessments, HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS, and toolbox talks
Ensure zero harm philosophy is followed throughout the project lifecycle
Client & stakeholder management
Act as the primary interface with the client and key stakeholders
Conduct regular project review meetings and provide progress updates
Manage client expectations and resolve issues proactively
Coordinate with classification societies and regulatory authorities when required
Cost control & commercial management
Monitor project costs, cash flow, and forecasts
Approve variations, claims, and subcontractor payments as per authority matrix
Ensure adherence to approved budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities
Team leadership & performance
Lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary project team
Assign responsibilities and ensure effective performance management
Provide mentoring, guidance, and performance feedback
Foster collaboration across engineering, procurement, construction, QA/QC, and offshore teams
Reporting & documentation
Prepare and present weekly and monthly project status reports
Report on schedule, cost, risk, quality, and safety performance
Ensure proper project documentation and final close-out reports
Qualification & experience
Minimum overall 20+ years of experience in oil and gas industry.
10–15+ years of project management experience
Minimum 5–7 years in offshore oil & gas or offshore EPC projects
Proven experience managing offshore platforms, jackets, subsea, FPSO, or brownfield tie-ins.
Experience with major offshore operators and EPC contractors
Strong exposure to engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning
Must have worked at least 5 years of experience in similar position for mega oil and gas FEED/EPC project (more than US$ 1 billion).
Bachelor’s degree in engineering is a must.
