Psychology Program Manager (Dementia Care Behavioral Consult)

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. The Dementia Care Behavioral Consult Psychology Program Director position serves as the Dementia Care Behavioral Consult (DCBC) Program Director at the Boise VA Medical Center, under the Geriatric and Extended Care Service Line. The incumbent coordinates interdisciplinary staffing, manages program operations, supervises a multi-disciplinary team, and ensures high-quality behavioral health services for Veterans with dementia. This role requires expertise in mental health and neurocognitive disorders, behavioral interventions, and program administration, reporting directly to the Associate Chief Nurse for Geriatric Extended Care. Duties include, but not limited to: Coordinate interdisciplinary staffing, work assignments, budget, treatment services, and admission criteria for the DCBC program. Supervise and evaluate a multi-disciplinary team (including RNs, social workers, psychologists), ensuring adherence to VHA directives and Joint Commission standards. Monitor and improve the efficiency, effectiveness, timeliness, and quality of DCBC services, including development and review of quality indicators and workload data. Lead interdisciplinary team meetings to develop consult management plans and review program policies. Oversee communication and coordination among DCBC Team members and facility partners. Provide behavioral health assessments and a full range of interventions, including group and individual psychotherapy and psychological testing. Ensure compliance with medical record documentation procedures and support other Behavioral Health programs. Serve as a consultant and provide clinical supervision and training to staff and trainees in various disciplines. Participate in facility, VISN, and national committees related to dementia care and program alignment with best practices. Uphold standards for customer service, ADP security, environmental management, safety, and age-specific patient care. Maintain a valid State driver's license and perform duties requiring mobility within the medical center and community.
