QA Electrical Engineer
Summary
A QA Electrical Engineer in Singapore who inspects, tests, and commissions electrical systems in a semiconductor manufacturing facility — cleanroom power distribution, busway, UPS/critical power, ESD grounding, fire alarm and ELV systems — developing ITPs, SOPs, and NCRs while coordinating contractors and engineering teams.
Job Title: QA Engineer — Electrical & Instrumentation
Location: Singapore
About the Role:
Detail-oriented and proactive QA Engineer to support the Project/QA Manager in ensuring the quality, safety, and reliability of electrical systems within a semiconductor manufacturing facility. You will drive rigorous inspection, testing, and commissioning of electrical infrastructure — from cleanroom power distribution and tool hookups to ESD grounding and critical life-safety systems — while continuously improving QA processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in developing, reviewing, and executing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for electrical installation works, including cable containment, cable pulling, termination, and pre-commissioning/commissioning.
• Support the development of SOPs, Method Statements (MOS), and checklists for electrical and instrumentation works; ensure contractors adhere to approved procedures and industry best practices.
• Conduct quality inspections for cleanroom electrical systems, busway distribution, UPS/critical power, ESD grounding, lighting, fire alarm, and ELV systems to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Monitor and track punchlist items and defects; drive timely closure and maintain accurate documentation.
• Maintain constant, effective communication with contractors and subcontractors to ensure full understanding of electrical quality requirements, drawings, and specifications.
• Communicate internally with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams on work progress, test results, defect trends, and closure status.
• Assist in the issuance and tracking of Site Observation Reports (SORs) / Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) related to electrical works, and ensure root-cause analysis and corrective actions are completed.
• Witness and verify electrical testing protocols (e.g., insulation resistance, continuity, polarity, earth resistance, torque verification, high-pot testing, and functional testing).
• Support factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) for major electrical equipment where required.
• Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and reporting for electrical scope efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in QA/QC or commissioning of electrical systems within semiconductor, data center, pharmaceutical, or other high-tech facility projects.
• Familiarity with cleanroom electrical protocols, ESD/grounding requirements, and critical power infrastructure in semiconductor environments.
• Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC / NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, SS 638, IEC 60364, or local Singapore electrical regulations).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Good communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities.
