QAQC ENGINEER
Job Summary
Lead quality assurance and control for fire protection projects by developing procedures, conducting inspections, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC procedures for fire protection projects to ensure quality standards are met
- Conduct detailed inspections of fire protection system installations, including sprinklers, fire hose reels, fire alarms, and related equipment, verifying compliance with project specifications, codes, and client requirements
- Prepare and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), inspection records, checklists, and quality documentation to support project quality control
- Coordinate inspection and testing activities with clients, consultants, main contractors, and relevant authorities to facilitate smooth project execution
- Monitor site workmanship and activities to identify and report non-conformities, ensuring corrective measures are applied promptly
- Raise, track, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and verify implementation of corrective and preventive actions
- Review technical drawings, method statements, material submissions, and inspection reports to ensure alignment with quality standards
- Support testing, commissioning, and project handover processes to guarantee system functionality and compliance
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, and Safety Teams to achieve project quality objectives
- Ensure adherence to company quality management systems and relevant industry standards throughout project lifecycle
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Fire Protection Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 2 years of QA/QC experience in construction, preferably with fire protection systems
- Knowledge of fire protection systems including sprinkler, fire alarm, hose reel, and hydrant systems
- Familiarity with Singapore Standards (SS), SCDF requirements, and construction quality control procedures
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in testing and commissioning of fire protection systems
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills applied to quality assurance tasks
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude
- Possession of a valid Class 3 driving license (preferred but not mandatory)
