Responsibilities:

• Conduct, witness of welding procedure and welder qualification tests including of the preparation of test pieces and destructive tests and verifying compliance with appropriate standards and specifications.

• Verification that adequate and valid welder approvals are available, and that only approved welders as required are used in production.

• Conduct visual and specific inspections in accordance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), project specifications, and QA/QC procedures.

• Coordinate with QAQC Inspectors (Hull/Structure, DC and Piping) and NDT Coordinator, to verify and ensure that all finished welds are checked and accepted for all stages of the project, from material inspection through delivery.

• Ensure that quality assurance standards and procedures are maintained.

• Prepare and maintain inspection records, reports accordingly to the project specifications.

• Liaise with Contractor, Production, Classification Surveyors and Client’s representative to ensure the product is checked and complied with the project quality plan and specifications.

• Perform any other tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.

• Ensure compliance to relevant government regulations and company’s quality, safety, health and environmental (QSHE) policies, practices and procedures at all times.

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Engineering or relevant field of International certification (e.g. AWS-CWI or CSWIP 3.1 WI).

• Able to read and understand the engineering drawing (Structural, P&ID and Isometric) and interpret of weld drawings and weld symbols.

• Minimum 3 years’ of relevant QC inspection experience in structural fabrication and welding works.

• Strong knowledge of QA/QC inspection processes and reporting.

• Experience in offshore, marine, shipyard, oil & gas preferred.

• A team player with the ability to work independently as well as in a team

• Good communication skills, meticulous, resourceful, able to multi-task

• Computer literary (MS. Office).
