QS Engineer (M&E)

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BQ) from M&E design and construction drawings.
  • Review M&E design drawings, specifications, and contract documents for cost and quantity implications.
  • Prepare cost estimates and tender submissions.
  • Coordinate with the Design, BIM, and Project teams during design development.
  • Provide cost advice and value engineering recommendations to optimize design solutions.
  • Monitor design revisions and assess their impact on project cost and procurement.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and manage variation orders (VO), claims, and final accounts.
  • Monitor project budgets, cost forecasts, and cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company procedures.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in M&E quantity surveying.
  • Experience in BQ preparation, quantity take-off, tendering, and contract administration.
  • Good knowledge of M&E design principles, engineering drawings, and Design & Build (D&B) projects.
  • Ability to interpret M&E design drawings and evaluate the commercial impact of design changes.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, BIM, Microsoft Excel, and QS/cost management software.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
