8+ years building and maintaining server-rendered PHP web applications backed by a relational database.
• Demonstrable experience generalising repeated code paths into a configuration-driven or metadata-driven design this is the core of the role and will be probed in interview.
• Strong JavaScript, including deep experience with a component-based, configuration-driven UI framework where the framework owns rendering and layout. The application uses ExtJS 4; comparable frameworks are listed under Framework background below.
• Working fluency with SQL, including reading and refactoring existing query code.
• Experience leading a small distributed team against a fixed date, and comfort saying early when a date is at risk.
• Experience extending a legacy codebase in place, without a rewrite.

Desirable
• Sencha ExtJS, version 4 or later — the framework this application uses.
• Automotive or manufacturing programme-management domain exposure.
• Experience with gate or stage-gate review processes.
• Prior work on reporting or KPI platforms with configurable metrics.
