Position Summary
We are seeking experienced Residential Care Workers / Youth Workers to support young children in a structured residential setting on the Sunshine Coast. This role requires a high level of professionalism, emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage complex behaviours while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.

You will be responsible for providing day-to-day care, implementing care plans, and supporting children with their developmental, emotional, and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, trauma-informed care to children and young people
  • Support daily routines including personal care, meals, education, and activities
  • Implement individual care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments
  • Manage challenging behaviours using approved strategies and de-escalation techniques
  • Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and progress notes
  • Work collaboratively with families, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ensure compliance with NDIS standards, Child Safety requirements, and organisational policies

Requirements


  • Demonstrated experience working with children or young people in residential care or similar settings
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and behaviour management
  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or equivalent) – highly desirable
  • Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check – QLD)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • Ability to work shift work, including sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays
  • Can start immediately
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of resilience and emotional regulation
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding children and maintaining professional boundaries
