Job Scope and Accountabilities
Kahua is a fast-growing technology company that builds software for organizations managing complex construction projects and capital programs.
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) serves as an integral function across Kahua's Marketing and Sales organizations and plays a critical role in demand generation and new account sales.

As an SDR, you will be one of the first people a prospective customer meets. You will research strategic accounts, initiate relevant conversations, qualify needs, nurture interest, and create pipeline for the sales team. You will work closely with Account Executives, Marketing, and the broader revenue organization to support lead generation, nurturing, and qualification programs while engaging project managers, operational leaders, and executives in consultative business conversations.
This role is ideal for someone who is driven, coachable, curious, comfortable being measured, and able to turn disciplined execution into results.
Key Responsibilities
Create and Qualify Pipeline
- Research accounts, industries, market signals, and decision-makers before outreach.
- Conduct outbound prospecting by phone, email, LinkedIn, marketing programs, and events.
- Engage project managers, operational leaders, and executives with relevance.
- Ask questions that surface priorities, stakeholders, timing, and fit.
- Turn research and inbound interest into qualified meetings.
- Identify qualification gaps and account risks early, to ensure the sales team invests time in viable opportunities.
Nurture and Develop Accounts
- Maintain consistent and relevant follow-up across long sales cycles.
- Leverage case studies, customer stories, industry insight, and events as reasons to re-engage prospects.
- Build relationships across multiple contacts and buying roles.
- Partner with Account Executives on account strategy and risk.
- Manage multiple accounts while maintaining timely follow-up and accurate next steps.
Own Your Performance
- Work a daily prospecting rhythm and hit your activity and pipeline goals.
- Learn how your inputs drive results, then use the data to adjust.
- Manage high volume without losing the details.
- Keep activity, qualification, and next steps current in Salesforce.
- Take ownership of assigned accounts, priorities, and outcomes.
Learn and Improve
- Develop a strong understanding of Kahua's platform, customers, and the problems our software solves.
- Learn new markets and buyer personas.
- Listen to calls, seek feedback, apply coaching, and demonstrate continuous improvement.
- Leverage modern sales technology, data, and AI tools effectively.
- Share what works, what you see in the market, and what you learn.
- Contribute to preparation, accountability, teamwork, and improvement.

Relevant Experience:
Relevant experience may include:
- Experience or exposure to sales development, business development, inside sales, customer service, or another customer-facing or performance-driven environment.
- Internships, campus leadership, athletics, entrepreneurship, or other experiences that demonstrate preparation, discipline, resilience, accountability, and performance against goals.
- Experience or demonstrated ability to communicate with customers, prospects, or stakeholders and building rapport through phone, email, or in-person interactions.
- Roles or experiences where you can point to measurable results, such as rankings, revenue contribution, growth, productivity improvements, leadership outcomes, or other accomplishments.
- Exposure to B2B SaaS, enterprise software, construction technology, or another technology environment is helpful, but not required.
Education & Professional Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Arts, Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Familiarity with CRM and sales prospecting platforms such as Salesforce and SalesLoft is preferred.
