Description

Sentra is the AI Data Readiness platform for enterprises deploying AI at scale. Sentra continuously discovers, classifies, and governs sensitive data across cloud, SaaS, data warehouses, and AI environments - giving security teams complete visibility into what AI systems can access, what they can expose, and where compliance violations exist. Unlike alternatives that copy data to vendor clouds or require customer-managed outpost infrastructure, Sentra provisions ephemeral scanners directly inside the customer's environment, delivering petabyte-scale classification at a fraction of the cost. Trusted by Lyft, SoFi, Munich RE, PennyMac, Glovo, and others.

About the Role

As Sentra expands across EMEA, we're looking for a technically strong, customer-focused Sales Engineer to build our presence and support enterprise growth across the region.

Based in the UK, you'll work closely with our EMEA Sales team to help customers understand, evaluate, and adopt Sentra's data security and AI readiness platform.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you'll lead technical discovery, deliver product demonstrations, manage Proofs of Value (PoVs), and help organisations understand how Sentra can address their data security and compliance challenges.

As part of our growing EMEA team, you'll have the opportunity to help establish our technical sales approach in the region, build trusted relationships with enterprise security teams, and influence how we bring our solutions to new markets.

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, can communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders, and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the EMEA sales team to drive technical sales activities throughout the customer lifecycle, from initial discovery through technical validation and deal closure.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer environments, security challenges, cloud infrastructure, and data protection requirements.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations that clearly communicate Sentra's capabilities and business value to technical and executive audiences.
  • Design, execute, and manage customer Proofs of Value (PoVs), including defining success criteria, coordinating technical requirements, and demonstrating measurable outcomes.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on cloud architecture, data security, deployment requirements, and integrations.
  • Build strong relationships with CISOs, security architects, cloud engineers, data security teams, and other technical decision-makers across EMEA.
  • Collaborate with regional Sales leadership to develop account strategies, address technical objections, and support the progression of enterprise opportunities.
  • Work closely with Channel partners to support technical enablement, joint customer engagements, and partner-led opportunities.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to communicate customer feedback, troubleshoot technical challenges, and influence product improvements.
  • Help develop and refine technical sales processes, demonstration environments, and PoV methodologies to support Sentra's continued growth across EMEA.
  • Stay current on emerging trends in data security, cloud security, AI security, and regulatory requirements relevant to enterprise customers.
  • Represent Sentra at customer meetings, industry events, partner engagements, and technical workshops across the region.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or a customer-facing technical presales role, preferably within cybersecurity, cloud security, or data management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of public cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, deployment architectures, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Solid understanding of data security principles, including data discovery, classification, access controls, and cloud security best practices.
  • Proven experience leading technical product demonstrations, customer evaluations, and Proofs of Value (PoVs) in enterprise environments.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Experience partnering with enterprise Account Executives to support complex sales cycles and revenue growth.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple customer engagements in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Experience working with distributed global teams and collaborating across Sales, Product, and Engineering.
  • Familiarity with data security, DSPM, cloud security posture management, or AI security technologies is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of European data privacy and regulatory frameworks, including GDPR, is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and EMEA for customer meetings, technical evaluations, and industry events.
