Security Analyst

Your new company

Our client is seeking experienced Security Analysts to provide additional capability within their cyber security operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for contractors who are immediately available and keen to contribute their expertise in a fast-paced security environment.

Your new role

We are looking for Tier 2 Security Analysts to join an Auckland-based team on an initial 2-month contract, starting ASAP. You'll be responsible for investigating security alerts, responding to incidents and supporting the effective operation of enterprise security monitoring platforms.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate and respond to security alerts and incidents across enterprise environments.
• Perform Tier 2 security incident triage, investigation and escalation.
• Utilise Microsoft Sentinel and other SIEM platforms to identify suspicious activity and potential threats.
• Investigate endpoint security events using Microsoft Defender and CrowdStrike Next-Gen technologies.
• Analyse security logs, correlate events and identify indicators of compromise.
• Support threat detection, incident containment and remediation activities.
• Work collaboratively with security operations teams to resolve incidents and improve detection capabilities.
• Document investigation findings, incident responses and recommended actions.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Tier 2 Security Analyst, SOC Analyst or Cyber Security Analyst.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender.
• Practical experience with CrowdStrike Next-Gen endpoint security solutions.
• Strong understanding of SIEM technologies, security monitoring and log analysis.
• Experience investigating and responding to cyber security incidents.
• Good knowledge of common cyber threats, attack techniques and security vulnerabilities.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple security investigations.
• Available to commence immediately or at short notice.
