Security Assistant
Summary
Assist in security operations at a U.S. Army manufacturing arsenal, handling clearance evaluations, background checks, and visitor access control using government systems.
About the Position: The Watervliet Arsenal is an Army-owned and -operated manufacturing center located in New York. It is the oldest, continuously active arsenal in the United States having begun operations in 1813.
Assist higher graded security specialists in carrying out well-defined, structured tasks in support of established security programs.
Evaluate position sensitivity to ensure justification for requests of security clearances are valid for the current duty assignment.
Manage and operate the Watervliet Access Background Check System, ensuring the system is maintained and operational for day-to-day operations, in accordance with applicable regulations and directives.
Work in the Visitor Control Center (VCC), controlling installation access, operating and performing research queries on the National Crime Information Center (NCIC/NCCIC) workstation terminal(s) in accordance with (IAW) federal and state laws.
Perform basic office automation tasks.
